Every tour is private, scheduled on dates of your choice, beginning on a Friday and ending on a Thursday in Bamako; there are no fixed-date scheduled departures. Contact us for prices. Groups of any size are welcome. D1 Friday: Arrive in Bamako, MALIYour international flight arrives in Bamako in the evening; airport-to-hotel transfer; overnight in Bamako (Grand Hotel, or similar)D2 Saturday: Bamako - Timbuktu - Sahara DesertMorning flight to Timbuktu; meet your Tuareg guide and depart into the desert by 4-WD vehicle; dinner and overnight camping at the beautiful oasis Dweyawith Breakfast, Lunch, DinnerD3 Sunday: Sahara desert - AraouaneContinue to Lahseïni and N'Karibat, where you will meet the Tuareg residents of these desert oases; lunch and rest stop at Taganet; then continue to Araouane, arriving around sunset; experience desert hospitality with a welcome dinner hosted by the village chief; overnight campingwith Breakfast, Lunch, DinnerD4 Monday: Araouane - Sahara desertVisit Araouane in the morning; after lunch depart to Bou'Ddjebeha; you will cross the most beautiful section of the Azaouad plateau, with undulating sand dunes stretching to the horizon; arrive in Bou'Djebeha in the late afternoon; welcome dinner with the village chief; overnight campingwith Breakfast, Lunch, DinnerD5 Tuesday: Sahara desert - TimbuktuDeparture after breakfast; around noon arrive at Tin Téhoun oasis for a rest stop and lunch; then continue and arrive in Timbuktu at day's end; overnight in Timbuktu (Hotel Hendrina Khan, or similar)with Breakfast, LunchD6 Wednesday: Timbuktu - BamakoTransfer to the airport for your flight to Bamako; check into your hotel and have the rest of the day at leisure; overnight in Bamako (Grand Hotel, or similar)with BreakfastD7 Thursday: Bamako - final departureBamako city tour in the morning: visit the Muso Kounda Museum, the city market, the artisans' village; in the evening, transfer to the airport for your final departurewith BreakfastNB: camping is no frills, sleeping on a ground mattress in a small tent; there are no campgrounds, so no running water, no latrines. Camping in Mali is not recommended for inexperienced campers.
